Rich Summer is Methanex’s President and CEO. Over his 19-year career with Methanex, he has held a variety of progressively senior roles in North America and Asia in Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing and Logistics.
Prior to his appointment as President and CEO, Mr. Sumner served as Methanex’s Senior Vice President, Global Marketing and Logistics, where he was focused on strategies that enhance Methanex’s global leadership position as the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol.
In that role Mr. Sumner oversaw Methanex’s Marketing & Logistics functions, including the jointly owned shipping subsidiary, Waterfront Shipping, as well as Global Market Development. He also had executive oversight for Methanex’s North American manufacturing operations. Mr. Sumner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, and he is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
Karine Delbarre leads the Global Marketing & Logistics team, including the jointly owned shipping subsidiary, Waterfront Shipping. She joined Methanex in 2008 and has held a variety of roles in the Global Marketing & Logistics team including, most recently, the Vice President, North America Marketing & Logistics based in Dallas, Texas.
Ms. Delbarre holds an undergraduate degree in business and a Master of Business Administration from the SKEMA Business School in France.
Brad Boyd is responsible for the Human Resources and Information Technology functions, as well as executive oversight of Methanex’s Egypt operations. Mr. Boyd joined the Company in 1996 and has held several roles in finance, with our Egypt operation and as Vice President, Human Resources. Mr. Boyd has a CPA, CA from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and a ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Dean Richardson leads the Corporate Finance team. He joined Methanex in 2003 and has worked in several global locations and has held a variety of progressively senior and strategic roles in Corporate Finance and Manufacturing. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Richardson was Vice President, Corporate Finance, responsible for strategic finance initiatives.
Mr. Richardson holds a Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University, a CPA, CA from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia and has completed the Harvard Advanced Management Program.
Gustavo Parra leads the Manufacturing team and is responsible for enhancing reliability, asset utilization and Responsible Care ® across the global manufacturing sites. Since joining Methanex in 1988, he has worked in several global locations, and has held a variety of progressively senior and strategic Manufacturing roles, including responsibility for the Geismar 1 and 2 relocation project and Managing Director, Trinidad. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Parra, was Vice President, Manufacturing Strategy & Planning.
Mr. Parra holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Concepción.
Kevin Maloney leads the Corporate Development team who are responsible for the strategic planning process, new growth initiatives, and the global gas strategy. Since joining Methanex in 2000, he has worked in numerous global locations and held a variety of progressively senior roles in Global Marketing & Logistics, Manufacturing, and Corporate Development. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Maloney was Vice President, Corporate Development and was the Geismar 3 (G3) project business owner.
Mr. Maloney holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University.
Mark Allard leads the Global Market Development and the Corporate Sustainability teams, through the Low Carbon Solutions function. He is responsible for assessing opportunities to decrease carbon emissions from the existing plant portfolio and to develop new markets for low carbon methanol. Since joining Methanex in 1996, he has worked in numerous global locations and held a variety of progressively senior roles in Global Marketing & Logistics, Corporate Development, and Manufacturing. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Allard, was the Vice President, North America Manufacturing, responsible for the Geismar and Medicine Hat manufacturing locations.
Mr. Allard holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.
Kevin Price leads the Legal team responsible for ensuring adherence to legal requirements and strong governance practices. Since joining Methanex in 2005, he has held progressively senior roles in the Legal team in Vancouver and Chile.
Mr. Price holds a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University, a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of British Columbia.
