Aiming to protect health professionals, Methanex has donated 9,000 professional N95 masks to the regional Punta Arenas hospital.
“As soon as the pandemic started, Methanex made its professional, logistic and financial resources available to the regional hospital. Together, the priorities for aid were defined as safeguarding the health of those most exposed to contagion. We completed the donation of 9,000 N95 masks for medical use, obtained for this purpose”, comments Alejandro Larrive, Managing Director, Methanex Chile.
Methanex also donated two 3D printers and supplies for production of 3,000 facial protections, an initiative developed by the volunteers of 3D Magellan Collective and the Magallanes University. Other Covid-19 related initiatives include donations of personal protection equipment kits, sanitation kits; and, partnering with employees to buy and distribute 300 food boxes among the most vulnerable families in the local community.
